On Bank holiday Monday, 30th May we went to two shows in one. The South West Hound Club had accepted an invitation to hold an Open show at Bath Championship show, and Finnish Spitz have classes at both shows. However, the entries for FS at both shows were just three dogs, although not the same three – the differences were litter brothers which had an entry each at one show only.
In the Bath show our judge was Mr Tim Ball, and without CCs my Puulatva the Red Norseman among Inkivaari (Niko) was awarded Best dog with BoB. The RBD was Brian and Clare Masters’ Toveri Teppu By Markku. Best Bitch was Abigail Rolfe’s Enkelini Niinkaunis (Beau). In the SWHC show, where the judge was Mr Brian Pocock, Niko did it again with BoB and Beau was BB. Steve and Zoie North’s Toveri Tynni from Markku was RBD at his first show – for both owners and handler.
The busier show period is not far away, with five major championship shows in the five weeks from early August to early September. So far we have not received schedules for any of them, so there is a need to be aware of them and download needed pages from the printers’ websites to be able to enter by post, or online.
