Fortunately SKC weather had improved for the final day but unfortunately the entry for the Judge Di Spavin was reduced by a third due to 1 being in season and 1 being too overawed by the venue.
DCC and BOB went to Will Croxford’s Ch / IR Ch Kunniakas Look No Further For Whittimere and BCC went to Littlejohn’s Puulatva Minnie the Minx wae Arcuilean.
Res BCC was Thompson & Cavill’s Ch Toveri Piku from Hakojen. There were no other males nor puppies entered.
I found the Welks preamble most interesting where yet again Jean Lanning has discussed her displeasure about the single CC. Obviously that is of no surprise as I have yet to find anybody that agreed it was a good idea. I do however find it most bizarre that one would continue to accept judging appointments where there is only a single CC on offer.
Of course that will soon be irrelevant not only as that scheme is being abolished but also the news that we are to lose CCs in 2016.
I think given the current numbers at shows that is for the best but also due to a complete lack of Judges available to fill the roles too.
I understand they have asked for breed clubs to consult for which shows would be best to lose them from but given the Kennel Club’s current layout of 2 representative shows within a week of each other I do not hold out much hope that the breed clubs’ responses will be adhered to. That is of course assuming the breed clubs DO write back and let’s hope that the membership that regularly exhibit but aren’t on either committee are consulted.
Entry figures are now out for our next 2 Ch Shows with no CCs – Bath and Southern Counties where we have entries of 7 and 9.
