The Finnish Spitz Club held its 49th Championship show on Saturday 1st October, where the judge was long time breed specialist, owner and breeder, Mrs J Mansfield. Due to a confusion over a hall booking the show had to be transferred from Baginton to Lewknor Jubilee Hall near Watlington in Oxfordshire at short notice. I don’t think anyone missed the show as a result of the late transfer. The entry was 32 dogs, of which six were NFC (one was a Japanese Spitz so that it could attend the show with its FS companion). Unfortunately due to canine absences only 15 dogs made it to the ring, but making 27 entries.

BIS was Steve and Alison Piearce’s Ahonpaan Esko at Sukunimi with his sixth CC. The DRCC was awarded to Irene Slater and Theo Hardwick’s Ch Valokki Soren, who was also RBIS. There were just three class winners in bitches – from five classes – all bred by Irene Slater, two from visit to Finland with a bitch who was mated there. The BCC went to V Tulikki, who is in the same ownership as V Soren, with the BRCC being awarded to Cecily Byard’s V Kuura,. BP was Stuart Hallett’s S Otto.
