Hi Everyone, I will start by introducing myself. For those who don’t know me, my name is David Knights and I have been asked to take over the breed notes for Finnish Spitz for Our Dogs.  My partner John and I currently share our lives with two Finnish Spitz; 4 ½ year old Magnus (Toveri Turo of Lelaps) and his 3 year old daughter Tosca (Toveri Tosca of Lelaps). We also own and show Whippets, Cardigan Welsh Corgis and an Afghan Hound.

The Finnish Spitz Society held their open show on Saturday 29th October and the judge was Mr Rodney Oldham of the famous Towmena Chow Chows. From an entry of 20 Mr Oldham chose the bitch, Thomson and Cavill’s Ch Toveri Piku of Hakojen as Best in Show. Reserve Best in show and reserve best bitch went to Ch Toveri Tuula of the same ownership. Best Dog went to Abigail Rolfe’s Enkelini Salama and Reserve Best Dog  and Best Puppy dog went to Stuart Hallet’s Sukinimi Otto. Best puppy bitch was Abigail Rolfe’s Enkilini Kuiskaus. Congratulations to all the winners.

Just four shows remaining this year with Finnish Spitz classes scheduled. LKA is our last championship show of the year with Viv Phillips as the judge, The Nordic Show (judge- Jane Maxwell), Hound Club of East Anglia (Judith Robin- Smith) and Stourbridge and DCS (Clare Masters). Schedules are available on Fossedata for the open shows. Please try and support where you can. If anyone has any news or views then please let me know.
