2014 wk12

We have another new champion – at Crufts Steve Piearce’s Sukunimi Koda gained his third CC and therefore his title at the age of four and a half years. No rush then, and this shows that our dogs do not always achieve the highest award at youngest ages.

RDCC was Tony and Linda Byrne’s Ch Kunniakas Kimi Possible, handled as usual by Stuart.

BCC and BOB was Hannah and Rob Thompson and Angela Cavill’s Ch Toveri Pimu with the RBCC going to T Piku from Hakojen in the same ownership as the CC winner plus David Cavill. As usual the bitches were handled by Hannah.

BP was Carol Wedge and Jimmie Beekie’s Hehkuva Sari. The entry, as already noted for judge Drew Littlejohn, was just 21 dogs, and three of these did not make it to the judging; one was absent and the others were too late – we really must double-check the judging time in future.

Discover Dogs at Crufts was another opportunity to show our dogs to the general public. On the first day the booth was manned by Patrick and Abby Rolfe with Abby’s friend Liz Jones, who handles one of Abby’s dogs (quite successfully with her second consecutive win at Crufts with Beau), and myself, with Lightning and Beau, plus their mother Cherish.

On the second day (show day) we were joined by Tricia Rolfe, Lindsay Phillips and Adam Morriss with Simba, brother to Beau. On the third day I managed to escape leaving the others from the second day. The fourth day was covered by Brenda Williams and Carol Wedge.

The first two days were not exceptionally busy, being for many visitors a working day, but we did have many overseas visitors to look at and sometimes even to discuss our breed. Saturday and Sunday saw many more visitors, with constant crowds, and some real interest seems to have been shown with people making repeat visits.
