For the first major show in August we probably had one of our better entries of the year, at 13 dogs, none of which was absent. The judge, Mrs S Holmli (Norway), would presumably be unknown to our exhibitors and this could have accounted for the better entry. At the Houndshow held at the Stafford County Showground we have often been unlucky with the weather, just missing the rain at the best, but after overnight heavy rain the day was fine with some sun. As usual for much of this year there were no puppy entries, but also unusually only one champion was entered, Hannah and Rob Thompson and Angela Cavill’s Ch Toveri Pimu, taking BV.

Both CCs were won from the limit classes. I understand in both cases their second. DCC and BOB was Linda Anderson and Alison and Steve Piearce’s Sukunimi Haway Geordie and RDCC Terry Dalley’s T Markku, litter brother to the BCC winner Tanja Mortimer and son  Calen Taylor’s T Maikki. RBCC was Hannah and Rob Thompson and Angela and David Cavill’s T Tuula, from juniors.

We now follow up with Bournemouth where the entry is just five, WKC with 11, Leicester – an open show, with a breed specialist judge Felicity Ash, and then City of Birmingham, with Richmond not far behind. Entries for all of these are closed
