Irene Slater has sent me the following, which shows how well a Finnish Spitz can be trained with perseverence. As far as I know only Valokki bred dogs (Irene’s breeding) have achieved this award. “Valokki Kielo (aka Pepper) owned by Kieron and Stacey Wells in the Midlands has successfully passed the KC Good Citizen Scheme Gold Award in December 2016. Pepper was born in May 2015 ie. was only just over 18 months old at the time. Many congratulations to Pepper and her owners!”
If you have access to the relevant group on facebook you might have seen a Finnish Spitz in America which has been trained in agility, following a course of the type which occasionally can be seen on television.
At the time of writing the first general championship show with classes and CCs for our breed (Manchester) is not far away, and by the time you read this it should not be too late to enter Crufts online closing date 23 January.
