The Nordic show, hosted by the Finnish Spitz Club, attracted an overall entry of 339 dogs, which included 19 Finnish Spitz. Of these, there were seven absentees, all from Scotland – I hadn’t heard that the border had been closed! The judge for our breed was Mrs Jane Maxwell, who did make it from Scotland. Best of Breed was my Niko (Puulatva The Red Norseman among Inkivaari). Unfortunately we were unable to stay for the best in show judging as we have no dog sitter and had left our other dogs to their own devices – they were all safe and sound when we got home. BOS was Hannah and Rob Thompson and Angela Cavill’s Ch Toveri Tuula; BP was Karen Byrne and Angela Cavill’s Kekkeruusin Emma Through T, at her first show, at just over six months, following her arrival in the UK from Finland some three months ago; BV was Irene Slater and Theo Hardwick’s Ch Valokki Soren. Emma was pulled out in the last five for BPIS.
The final major show of 2016 will be LKA on 11 December where we have an entry of eleven dogs for judge Mrs V Phillips, who was also BIS judge at the Nordic. Our final show of the year will then be Stourbridge and District Canine Society, where the FS judge will be Clare Masters.
