This is a List of all UK dog shows known to be holding specific classes for Finnish Spitz in 2021. Several shows that were originally scheduled have been cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. However, the list may not be exhaustive. It is possible that other Open Shows will have one or more classes for the breed. Changes are possible and you are advised to check the dates and other details if you intend to enter. Championship Shows – the number of Challenge Certificates awarded for Finnish Spitz are shown in brackets (0) or (2).
The Kennel Club designates 10 shows (Crufts, Birmingham National, Scottish Kennel Club, Welsh Kennel Club, Manchester, Bath, Windsor, Leeds City & District, Darlington, LKA) as “all breed championship shows” and they are required to offer CCs for all breeds including Finnish Spitz.
A further 4 shows will each offer 2 CCs for Finnish Spitz. Those additional 4 shows are 1 regional show (Richmond), 1 group show (Houndshow), and the 2 breed club shows.
Schedules, entry forms, and other details for all General Championship shows and many Open shows can be viewed or downloaded at either Fosse Data, Higham Press, or Arena Print/Zooza websites when available. Entries and payments can also be made online at either Fosse Data, Higham Press, or Zooza sites. To view details on those sites click on “Higham“, “Fosse“, or “Arena” in the “Entries” column. If you prefer to send your entries and payments by post, printed show schedules can be picked up at many dog shows or obtained from the Show Secretary. Championship Shows (no. of CCs) Specialist Breed Shows Open Shows – General or Hound Group
All the shows which usually take place in the first half of the year and a few later in the year were cancelled or recheduled this year:
Manchester (usually January, cancelled), Crufts (usually March, was rescheduled to July then cancelled), Hound Association of Scotland (no CCs, usually April, rescheduled to 29/09/21), National Dog Show (usually May, rescheduled to 25/09/21), Scottish Kennel Club (usually May, rescheduled to 30/09/21), Bath (usually May, rescheduled to 02/08/21), Finnish Spitz Society (June 2020 show (39th) rescheduled to 15/08/21, June 2021 show (40th) rescheduled to 30/10/21), Windsor (usually July, cancelled), Welsh Kennel Club (usually August, cancelled).
Houndshow and Leeds both took place around their usual dates in July and Richmond and Darlington are due to take place around their usual dates in September.
Finnish Spitz Club will hold 2 Championship shows – both on the same day, Sunday 3rd October. These are the rescheduled October 2020 show (53rd) as well as the 2021 show (54th) taking place on its usual date.
LKA is scheduled for 11th December, but entries are not yet open.
The Nordic Show (hosted by the Finnish Spitz Club) is currently the only Open Show that we are aware of that is due to hold classes for Finnish Spitz in 2021 and will place on 27/11/21.
