For the second consecutive year the Finnish Spitz Best of Breed at Crufts was a dog brought over from Finland for the show.  On a fine day in contrast to much the weather has had to offer recently we were confined in the halls of the NEC, with a long wait until just after 2pm for our judging to begin. For this year’s show our judge was Robert Greaves, and the entry was 17 dogs making 18 entries. Three were absent, with good reasons known for two of them. Best of Breed was Ms H Lahtinen’s Shemeikka WW’16 coming from North Karelia in Finland. The DRCC was then awarded to Clare and Brian Masters’ Toveri Teppo by Markku. In bitches the CC was won by Karen Byrne and Angela Cavill’s Kekkeruusin Emma Through Toveri, also from Finland but by importation. The BRCC went to Cecily Byard’s Valokki Kuura. Best Puppy was the bitch CC winner.

As usual the Discover dogs booth was staffed on all four days by a band of enthusiasts, recruited as necessary by Abby Rolfe.
