2014 wk16

Apologies that there has not been much news recently but at least there have been events in the background. The FS Society and the Club held their AGMs at the same venue, one after the other. Fortunately enough people attended so that both had a quorum. As some members will already know the Society’s chairman resigned last year (about three months after the AGM) and the vice-chairman, Abigail Rolfe, has fulfilled the role as acting chairman. She has now been elected as chairman, and Irene Slater was nominated to be vice-chairman. Both Society and Club held committee meetings after the AGMs.

The Society now looks forward to a great year with Finnish judges at both shows. In fact some entries have already been received for the June championship show. The Club meeting has not produced any changes in its appointments.

Both Society and Club have produced newsletters recently and a show schedule was included with the Society issue.

Over the next couple of weeks Abby and I will be attending three shows where FS classes are scheduled. Firstly we shall be at the South West Hound Club near Bristol where we have two classes on Easter Monday. At the end of the week we have WELKS near Malvern where we have a breed specialist Linda Anderson awarding CCs for the first time, and then on the following Sunday we shall be at the Hound Club of Wales show near Chepstow where there is one class. I only found out about the latter show by chance when perusing DW. If you hit on the Society’s website you will find that shows which schedule FS classes are listed – if we know about them.
