2013 wk43

The FSC championship show at Baginton Village Hall was judged by specialist Alison Piearce. Despite what appeared to be threatening clouds the weather remained dry and pleasant throughout, and judging took place in a nice grassed ring. There was an entry of 34 with ten absent and another six NFC.

BIS was Irene Slater and Theo Hardwick’s Valokki Soren, taking his first CC at just over four years, with RDCC going to Terry Dalley’s Toveri Markku. BCC and RBIS was Hannah and Rob Thompson and Angela and David Cavill’s Ch T Piku from Hakojen and RBCC and BV Hannah, Rob and Angela’s Ch T Pimu.

With four puppies entered and shown, BP was Brenda and Brian Williams’ Hehkuva Ruupetti.

During the day we welcomed a family living in Paris, who had made the journey by Eurostar the day before the show with the express intention of visiting the show and seeing our breed in numbers. They had a dog with them who appears to be part FS, rescued from a pound in Chicago, and are looking forward to being able to obtain a puppy when one becomes available.

Although the Club’s Championship Show trophies were on display, none was awarded as the club is assessing its trophies and valuing them. The full number were not present so if you have one let trophy steward Yvonne Howlett know. I understand that many of the FSC trophies for the Nordic show are also missing and Yvonne would like to know where they are, too.

Unusually two older dogs have now been found to be in need new homes, both I think about eight years old. One has already been placed and there is a possibility for the other.

After the flurry of summer shows, we have just three more before the end of the year – the FS Society show on Oct 26, the Nordic on Nov 23 and LKA on Dec 15th.
